Don Majkowski sat out 45 days of preseason training camp to win a $1.5 million contract after a Pro Bowl season for the Green Bay Packers.

Now, a little more than three months later, Majkowski's future is clouded as he tries to recover from rotator cuff surgery on his throwing shoulder.Instead of negotiation, this time it will take rehabilitation to get him back.

The 26-year-old quarterback, whom the Packers had hoped would take them to the playoffs, underwent surgery Thursday in San Diego where doctors repaired a torn tendon near his rotator cuff. At the soonest, the "Majik Man" is not expected to throw a football again for three months. It might be closer to six.
