Nick Rose, president and chief executive officer of Mountain Fuel Supply Co., has been designated chairman of the board of the Salt Lake branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco for 1991.

It also was announced that effective Jan. 1, Connie G. Hogland, executive director, Boise Neighborhood Housing Services, Boise, will become a director. She will replace Don M. Wheeler, president of Wheeler Machinery, Salt Lake City, who is retiring after serving as a director or chairman of the board since 1985.Other members of the board are Gerald R. Christensen, Ronald S. Hanson and Virginia Kelson, all of Salt Lake City; Curtis H. Eaton, Twin Falls, Idaho; and Gary G. Michael, Boise.

Rose is a member of his company's board of directors also is a member of the board of Questar Corp., Mountain Fuel's parent company. He has served on the board of the Pacific Coast Gas Association and is past chairman of the board of governors of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

Hogland worked as a program development coordinator for the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corp. before joining the BNHS in July 1982 as the executive director.
