Laura Isabelle Savage Adams, 96, Hyrum resident, died December 13, 1990 in Logan, Utah.
She was born August 2, 1894 in Hyrum, Utah, the daughter of Joseph Albert and Laura Ann Allen Savage.She married H. R. Adams June 20, 1923 in the Logan LDS Temple. He died March 2, 1955.
Isabelle was a member of the first graduating class of South Cache High School in Hyrum. She attended Utah State Agricultural College and received her teaching credentials. She taught school in College Ward, Cache County; Willard, Box Elder County, and Lincoln Elementary in Hyrum, Cache County.
She was active in the Cynthia Benson Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers; a member of the Hyrum Ladies Literary Club, President of the Lincoln Elementary PTA, Secretary of the Hyrum Stake Relief Society, as well as many ward and church assignments. She sold Avon products for 17 years until she was 80 years-old. She loved flowers and her garden, and was an especially loving grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Robert S. and Betty Adams, Bountiful; George S. and Elaine Adams, Hyrum; and by a daughter, Mrs. Richard C. (Margaret) Allen, Kaysville; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Frank (Kathryn) Gallagher, San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Isabelle was the last surviving child of ten children, born to Joseph Albert and Laura Ann Savage. She was preceded in death by a son, David and a step-son, Hugh L. Adams.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 17, 1990 at 1 p.m., in the Hyrum 5th-7th Ward Chapel, 190 West Main, with Bishop Craig Brown conducting. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the ward from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
