A number of Utah troops participating in Operation Desert Shield have not left the states yet and have arranged for time off to return home for Christmas. Between 450 and 500 Utah National Guard and Army Reserve troops are either on their way back to Utah or will be leaving their mobilization stations at Fort Lewis, Wash., or Fort Carson, Colo., Saturday to be home in time for Christmas. The Utah Automobile Dealers Association donated $2,500 to the National Guard to help members of the 144th Evacuation Hospital charter a bus from Colorado.
