Geneal Beck Jensen Barlow, 80, died Tuesday, December 25, 1990, at her home.

She was born May 2, 1910, in Centerfield, Sanpete County, Utah, a daughter of Alexander Avery and Hannah Thunneson Beck. She married Howard P. Jensen April 18, 1936. He died January 29, 1965. She married Jesse David Barlow March 22, 1968, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died July 6, 1982.She attended elementary school in Centerfield and graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, attended the University of Utah and graduated from business college. She was a member of the LDS Church and active in church activities all her life, serving as Primary organist, MIA teacher and Sunday School secretary. After moving to Clearfield, she was a member of the 3rd Ward, Clearfield North Stake, served as Relief Society president, Relief Society teacher and visiting teacher, member of the Clearfield Stake Relief Society Board.

She was a member of the DUP Seagull Camp, the Elite Club and the Ladies Literary Club of Clearfield. She worked for Safeway Stores at the District Office for 38 years and was an active member of the credit union program for Safeway Stores, serving three years on the auditing board and ten years on the board of directors. She was a member of the Utah Central Credit Union and was secretary of their loan department for three years, and served 19 years as a board of director. She was an active member of the Republican Party, being a judge of elections for ten years. She was secretary of the Home & Garden Irrigation Company and treasurer of the Israel Barlow Association. She and her husband were active in the Clearfield Kiwanis Club and the Senior Citizens of Clearfield and Davis County.

Surviving are: stepson and nephew, Haven J. Barlow, Layton; stepdaughter and niece, Wanda B. Barton, Sunset; also surviving are, three sisters, Lavora Beck Jensen, Salt Lake City; Grace Beck Snell and Margie Beck Lott, both of Orem. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children and they in turn were very close to her. She was instrumental in holding the family together through individual contact and annual family reunions held in Clearfield.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m., at the Clearfield 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 231 East 300 North, where friends may call on Saturday, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary.
