Today as a college, next week as a university. Weber State plays its final game as a college tonight when the 2-6 Wildcats host 2-7 California State University-Northridge at 7:30 in the Dee Events Center. It will be the eighth time the two teams have met, with Weber holding a 7-0 advantage through the years.

Weber officially becomes a university Jan. 1, then plays at CSUN Jan. 8 under that title.Northridge, in its first season as an NCAA Division I school, was an 81-69 loser to Idaho State Friday night.

The Wildcats have lost their last six games after a promising start. "The Christmas break came at a good time," says Coach Denny Huston. "I told the players to go home and not even think about basketball for a couple of days. Again, we did some good things in our last game, and we seem to be doing things better each game. But we still have to figure out how to play defense, especially in the second half. We get six of our next seven games at home, which should help us a great deal."
