Cloyd Edison Barker, 61, of Rockland Idaho; former Utah resident, died Thursday, December 27, 1990 at Harms Memorial Hospiatl of a heart attack.

He was born on May 28, 1929 in Vernal, Utah to George William and Evonne Hunting Barker. He graduated from Granite High School and served an LDS Mission to the southern states. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He attended Alabama State College, Utah State University, University of Utah and Brigham Young University and obtained an education specialist degree.On November 20, 1956 he married Karleen Burt Barker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He began counseling at Tooele High School. From there he went to the Salt Lake School District where he worked for 27 years. He then moved to Rockland to fill the position as Superintendent/Principal of the Rockland School District, where he had been employed for 4 1/2 years. He was an active High Priest in the LDS Church where he filled many callings. He was an exceptional husband, father, friend and Latter-Day Saint. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife; six children; five sons: Wynn (Christine), Lehi; Creed (Lora) Salt Lake; Grael (Linda), Elhart, Indiana; Rowan (Amy), Provo; and Court, Lehi; one daughter, Kindra (Curtis) Munk, Rockland, Idaho. Also surviving is his father, George William Barker, St. George, Utah; two brothers, Bill, Murray; Leonard, Riverton; one sister, Marcella Davidson, Seattle, Washington; 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31st at Rockland, Idaho LDS Chapel at 11 a.m. Graveside or indoor service Monday, about 4:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 Highland Dr. (Northeast corner), Salt Lake.
