William Dean Howard, 87, died December 27, 1990 in Nephi.
Mr. Howard was born July 25, 1903 in Nephi to George Edward and Charlotte Adams Howard. He married Mary Ann Ivie August 25, 1924; the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She died March 19, 1938. Married Virginia Eliason Ingram November 27, 1941; she died February 14, 1987. At an early age he went to Mills, Utah, where he was engaged in ranching and livestock raising with his fathers and brothers. He lived at Mills the rest of his life, more than 75 years. His father brought the first Aberdeen Angus cattle to Utah, about 1912. These cattle have been the family's pride for four generations. He was active in the Aberdeen Angus Association, officer of Juab County Cattlemens Association for many years, president of Levan's Lions Club, Juab County deputy assessor for many years, a supervisor of the beef cattle dept. of the Juab County Fair. He worked for the Forest service in Utah and Idaho, Island Park and Teton area. He was foreman over a Mormon cricket control crew.He is survived by one son, William D. Howard, Nephi; three step children, Mrs. Ray (Zoneal) Ostler, Grace Lake, Idaho; Clyde Ingram, St. Anthony, Idaho; Phyllis Chiaradia, Antioch, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Mabel Jensen, Rexburg, Idaho; Mrs. Sadie Greenhalgh, Nephi; Mrs. Frank (Martha) Collett, St. George; Mrs. Alburn (Jennie) Lyon, Manti; Mrs. Blaine (Minnie) Penney, Kanosh, Utah.
Funeral services will be be held Monday, December 31, 1 p.m., at the Nephi 7th Ward Chapel, 200 South 100 East. Friends may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at Anderson's Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, and 11:30-12:30 prior to services at the church. Interment, Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi.
