Gildo Giulio Mirabelli died March 12, 1990, of cancer, at his home. He was 79.

Born November 11, 1910, in Rizzuti, Italy, to Dominick and Rose Bianco Mirabelli. He immigrated to America in 1939 for a better life and to join his family in Utah. Gildo began working at the Utah Woolen Mills as a tailor in 1939 and continued there until 1989, achieving the status of "Master Tailor". The Stringham family gave Gildo the opportunity to perfect his art. They also held him in highest esteem. Gildo was an example to all in his work ethic and philosophy of life. His home was always open to visitors for a warm and casual visit. His grandchildren brought him much joy. Member Catholic Church, St. Ambrose Parish.

Surivived by his patient and caring wife of 39 years, Josephine "Pina"; children, Donna, Dick and wife, Holly, Rosalie and husband, George; grandchildren, Emily, Alexander and baby Giulia, all of Salt Lake City; brothers, Aurelio and wife, Assunta, Cosenza, Italy; Mario and Concetta, Oreste and wife, Irene; sister, Angelina Sciumbato, all Salt Lake City; several devoted nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Luigi. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 16, 1990, 10:30 a.m., at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East. Vigil service with Rosary will be held Thursday, 7:30 p.m., at the church, where friends may call Thursday, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Committal: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street. Funeral Directors: Neil O'Donnell & Sons. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to St. Ambrose Renovation Fund.
