Dorothy Denton Folland, age 73, died March 12, 1990.

Born January 20, 1917 in Salt Lake City, daughter of George L. Denton, Sr. and Leonie H. Neuheusen. Married Edward F. Folland, September 17, 1938 at Cathedral Church of St. Mark, Salt Lake City. Was a graduate of the University of Utah, obtaining a degree in Marketing. Contributed many hours of volunteer time during her lifetime to many organizations. Was one of the original organizers of "Pink Ladies" at Holy Cross Hospital, served on Board of Community Nursing Service for 40 years, was a member of Salt Lake Junior League and served on Board in a number of capacities and later contributed time as a sustaining member.

Additionally, she has served on the boards of the Symphony Guild and Civic Music, president of Pi Beta Phi Alumni Chapter and member of its Holding Corp. As a member of St. Marks Cathedral sang in the choir, served on the Alter Guild, and currently was an active member of Advisory Board of Museum of Fine Arts, University of Utah. Was a member of Town Club and PEO Chapter A1.

She is survived by her husband and two sons, William D. Folland (Sue), Kenilworth, IL; Dr. Edward D. Folland (Karen), Wellesley, MA; five grandchildren, Charles E., Bountiful, Utah; Andrew W., Portland, Oregon; Christopher George, Kenilworth, IL; Sarah Jane and Alison Marie, Wellesley, MA; and brother, George L. Denton, Jr. (Barbara), Salt Lake City, UT.

Friends may call at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 1st South, 6-8 p.m., Wednesday. Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 15, Cathedral Church of St. Mark, 231 East 1st South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
