Ask any expert and the answer will be the same. Utah will experience an earthquake. The only question is when.

South Salt Lake will hold a seminar Thursday, March 29, to help prepare residents for the inevitable. The seminar will address how to prepare a 72-hour emergency kit and how an earthquake could affect the businesses and residents of the city. Emergency procedures also will be discussed.Jim Tingey, Utah earthquake project manager, and Walter Arabasz, director of the University of Utah Seismograph Station, will participate in the panel. South Salt Lake Police Chief Bob Gray, Fire Chief Bob Adams and Mayor Jim Davis also will be on the panel.

The seminar, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. in the South Salt Lake City Auditorium, 2500 S. State Street.
