A Summit County man has pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife last month.

Donald Allen Noble, 52, entered the plea Monday afternoon before 3rd Circuit Judge John Rokich, who ordered a psychiatric evaluation to determine whether Noble can use the defense of "diminished mental capacity."A hearing in the matter has been scheduled for April 20.

Noble is accused of shooting Nadalee Puzey Noble, 43, outside a Park City grocery store the evening of Feb. 27.

According to witnesses named in the charges, Noble confronted his wife, pulled a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun and pulled the trigger. The gun failed to fire so he cocked it again and fired two shots, both of which struck his wife in the head.

After the shooting, Noble drove to Park City's police station and surrendered.
