A Salt Lake dentist charged with sexually abusing a patient has been ordered not to administer gas to female patients.
Bret Jon Tucker, 31, appeared Tuesday before 3rd Circuit Judge Floyd Gowans, who scheduled a hearing for Tuesday.Tucker, charged with two counts of forcible sodomy, is accused of fondling and sexually abusing a 25-year-old Murray woman in his office, 160 S. 1000 East, on Jan. 20.
The charges allege Tucker placed the woman under the influence of nitrous oxide and forced her to perform oral sex.
While the case is pending, Gowans ordered Tucker not to administer the anesthetic gas to female patients.
State professional licensing investigators have filed an action against Tucker's license and have ordered him to have a third party present when he is treating patients.
Since news of Tucker's charges were made public, Salt Lake police have received a complaint from a 16-year-old girl who was a patient of Tucker's last August. Detectives still are investigating that incident, said sex crimes squad Sgt. Roy Wasden.
