Two Salt Lake County men remained hospitalized Wednesday with injuries they received in a one-vehicle traffic accident Tuesday night in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Salt Lake County deputy sheriff Kevin Peterson said a vehicle driven by Raymond Salazar, 23, was traveling down the canyon when the accident occurred on 5200 East. "He missed the curb and crashed right into the mountain," he said.Passenger Michael S. Caldwell, 23, was taken by helicopter to University Hospital. He was in serious condition early Wednesday, a nursing supervisor said. Another passenger, James Wiscomb, also 23, was taken to St. Mark's Hospital where he was in stable condition.
