Questar Corp. said its previously announced intention to sell its affiliate Interstate Brick Co. has been completed.

Pacific Coast Building Products Inc. of California purchased a portion of Interstate Brick's plant and equipment. PacBric Inc. acquired the brick company's remaining assets by purchasing all Interstate Brick common stock. The sale price was not disclosed, but Questar officials said it was slightly more than Interstate Brick's book value.

Interstate Brick has been owned by Questar subsidiary Entrada Industries since 1971. Located in West Jordan, the Interstate Brick plant is the largest brickmaking facility between Denver and Los Angeles and had approximately 138 permanent full-time employees. In 1989, Interstate Brick sold 67.7 million brick equivalents, consisting of a variety of brick products.

Questar officials said the sale was in line with the company's goal of focusing on its primary, energy-related business lines: oil and gas exploration and production, interstate natural gas transmission and retail gas distribution.
