Psychiatric social worker Sophie Freud, granddaughter of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, says she's never undergone psychoanalysis and doesn't plan to.

"I'm just the kind of addictive person who would get lost in some kind of dependency relationship" in analysis, she told about 200 people Friday at the University of Pittsburgh. "It's too dangerous to my psychic makeup."Freud, 65, is a professor of social work at Simmons College in Boston and a noted therapist.

She poked fun at some of her grandfather's ideas, saying, for example, that she doesn't agree with his contention that only men are capable of true passion.
