Chan "Chuck" Fred Bliss, age 53, died March 30, 1990 at his home in Loa of cancer.

Born July 2, 1936 in Torrey, Utah to Joseph "Joe" Gilbert and Elva Noyes Bliss. He married Mary Ann Moosman, October 15, 1955 in Provo, Utah. He worked for Geneva Steel, Nicholas and Co., Utah Wholesale Grocery, Leatham Brothers and various construction companies. He enjoyed running heavy equipment and driving long haul trucks. He and his son Doug, owned and operated Bliss Trucking. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, horseman and enjoyed water skiing. He lived in Sandy until 1979, when he moved to Loa. He was a member of the Wayne County Search and Rescue for 51/2 years, in August of 1989 he was made an honorary member. Member LDS Church.Survived by wife, Mary Ann, Loa; children, Mary Linda and Alma Paulsen, West Jordan; Julie Ann and Terry Rhoades, Vernal; Debra Lee and David Hoopes, Douglas Criss and Judith Bliss, all of Loa; granddaughter, Chancie Ann Paulsen, grandsons, Marshal Paulsen, and Branden Hoopes, three step grandsons, Willard, Bill and Terren Hoopes, step granddaughter, Kistina Hoopes, mother, Elva Bliss, Ogden; brother, Fred Bliss, sisters, Mrs. Frank (DeAnna) Miller, Mrs. Dennis (JoAnn) Gabbitas, all Ogden.

Funeral services, Wednesday, April 4, 1 p.m. at the Loa LDS Stake Tabernacle. Friends may call for viewing Tuesday evening at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, 7-8 p.m. and at the church in Loa, Wednesday 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Burial, Loa Cemetery, under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield.
