The Bluffdale City Council has joined the growing list of communities and citizens opposing the proposed pipeline that would carry natural gas from Wyoming to California.

The council decided unanimously to draft an anti-pipeline resolution and send it to all parties involved in the proposal.Kern River Gas Transmission Co. and Wy-Cal have each been certified by the Federal Energy Regulation Commission to build the high volume, high pressure pipeline.

The original plan proposed a route east of the Wasatch Mountains through U.S. Forest Service land to a point east of Nephi where the pipeline would then turn west and follow a southwestern course through Juab, Millard, Beaver, Iron and Washington counties.

Two years ago the competing companies proposed what is called the Wasatch Variation which would bring the pipeline over the Wasatch Mountains using an existing utility right-of-way near Bountiful.
