The University of Utah football team has reached the halfway point in spring practice and new coach Ron McBride says he is happy with the progress his team has shown.

"We are starting to get fundamentally better and our technique is improving every day," McBride said. "The players are starting to learn to play at full speed and we are where I'd like to be at this point."The two Ute quarterbacks both had their moments Saturday. Jason Woods ended the afternoon hitting on 9 of 13 passes while Frank Dolce connected on 8 of 16 throws, including a 60 yard scoring pass to Sean Williams.

The Utes continue in spring drills for the next two weeks.

Practice will conclude April 28 with the annual Red-White Game in Rice Stadium.
