Officials from the Utah Board of State History and Gov. Norm Bangerter have dedicated a beautification project in front of the historic Rio Grande Depot.
The depot houses offices of the state Division of History and the Utah Historical Society. It also houses a museum and bookstore operated by the society.The building has undergone an exterior facelift, including renovated roofing tiles, during the past two years. The project was capped this winter with the completion of landscaping, ornamental bricks and concrete walkways along with new flagpoles and lighting.
Renovation work is now moving inside where crews are will begin painting interior walls, add wall sconces and restructure the museum exhibit area for the Trails Through Time exhibit scheduled to being May 3.
