SHARE NEW LEADERSHIP FOR GART BROTHERS

Changes in the management of Gart Brothers Sporting Goods Co., which has 70 stores in several states including Utah, have been announced by Jerry Gart, chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

A son, Ken Gart, has been elected president and chief operating officer, and another son, Tom Gart, has been elected president and chief merchandising officer.Jerry's brother, Mickey Gart, will become vice chairman of the board and secretary-treasurer, and another of Jerry's sons, John Gart, is the executive vice president.

The chairman also announced that David Warnick, former controller for Mrs. Fields Cookies, is assigned the newly created position of managing director of accounting and management information systems.

Stan Ellis, Norman Bass, David Hill and Doug Morton will continue as vice presidents, and vice presidents Melvin Gart and Robert Vreeland and controller Don Palmer will retire.
