Two men who pleaded no contest to drenching Nevada-Las Vegas basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian during a March 1 UNLV-Utah State game will have to perform 40 hours of community service, a Utah judge ruled Friday.

First Circuit Judge Clint Judkins at first sentenced Jeff Leishman, 26, Salt Lake City, and Gavin Washburn, 30, Logan, to six months in jail and fined them $1,000 each. But Judkins then suspended the jail term and fine in favor of community service. The two are former USU student body officers."This court appreciates a good joke and good prank," Judkins said. "But I think, under the circumstances, this was inappropriate and I think both of you see that now."

"If the court were to find this was a prank and send you on your way, it would be a message to others that they could do the same type of thing."
