SHARE ARIZONA EXECUTIVE TO HEAD SCHOOLS FOR DEAF AND BLIND

David L. West, present director of the Phoenix (Ariz.) Day School for the Deaf, has been named superintendent of the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind, effective approximately June 25.

West was selected by a search committee to succeed Dr. Tom Bannister, who left Utah for the directorship of a program in Alabama.Until he comes to Utah to take over the supervision of the two Ogden schools, West will act as a consultant. His salary will be $52,000 per year.

West has been involved in education programs for the hearing and visually handicapped in North Carolina, West Virginia and Arizona.
