Norman Leon Abbott, 66, died April 20, 1990 at his home.

Born September 4, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Albert and Thresia Carn Abbott. Married Georgia Smith in 1943. She preceded him in death in 1966. Married Delpha Blanchfield May 6, 1972. An alumnus of Granite High School. Machinist for Christensen Diamond for 36 years, retiring in 1983. During World War II, he built aircraft which sparked a life long love of planes. He became a licensed pilot and enjoyed his own plane. In later years he became accomplished in building and flying radio controlled aircraft. A ham operator, enjoyed playing the organ, loved nature and all of its creatures and was a skilled craftsman.Survivors: Wife; two stepsons and a stepdaughter; brothers and sisters, Beverly A. Pratt, Orval T. Abbott, Jerie Brown, Lyla J. Huffman, Phyliss Abbott and Art Abbott; 12 step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildrden, all of Salt Lake City.

Funeral service Monday, 12:00 noon, Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 2350 E. 1300 South where friends may call one hour, prior to the service. Interment: Larkin Sunset Lawn.
