Arthur Empey, Jr., age, 99, died Friday April 27, 1990 in Salt Lake City.
Born October 28, 1891 in St. George, Utah to Arthur Empey, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Rogers Empey. He lived in St. George until he was 13. Resident most of his life in View, Idaho, where he farmed on land he homesteaded. Active in the LDS Church where he held leadership roles in many of the organizations. He was the first missionary to be call from View, Idaho, serving in the Western States. He married Mary Ann Morgan of Malad, Idaho June, 1917 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she preceded him in death July 20, 1961. He later married Ethyl Waugh.Survived by his wife, Ethel; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Genevieve) Grafft, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. A. Merrill (Nelda) Linford, Midway; Mrs. Ralph (Donna) Whitaker, Salt Lake City; sisters, Mrs. Klea Henderson; and Mrs. Thora Adams; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services 7 p.m., Tuesday evening with a viewing at 6:30 p.m. prior. Burial, 1 p.m., Wednesday, View, Idaho Cemetery, near Burley.
