SHARE S. JORDAN PANEL PROPOSES 4 COMMUNITY EVENTS FOR ’90

The city Parks and Recreation Committee is recommending that South Jordan sponsor four community events this year.

The first would be an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 14. This event would be co-sponsored with Salt Lake County and would be for youths 12 and under.Second on the list is a citywide cleanup day on Saturday, April 28. The city's Beautification Committee is being asked to organize events that would include free dump passes, tree plantings and a picnic.

The city's annual Country Fest is planned for July 13-14. The two-day event would include a parade, chuckwagon breakfast, fireworks, horse pull, 5K run and concessions and games at the city park.

On Dec. 1, the committee recommends holding a Country Holiday Welcome with Christmas carols, lights and a visit by Santa Claus.

The recommended activities resulted from meetings that involved a group of 50 citizens.
