Emil Eugene Graff (known by all as E.J. Graff), age 97, died Friday morning, April 6, 1990 in St. George, Utah.

Born December 12, 1892 in Elgin, Oregon, son of Emil Graf and Charlotte Juliet Roulet. Married LaVerna Slack September 10, 1918 in St. George, Utah; solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple September 22, 1919. She died September 18, 1985. He married Nina Bushman Huish September 24, 1988 in the St. George Temple. Graduated from High School in 1914 as president of his senior class. Attended school in Logan. He taught school and ran a store in LaVerkin. He was one of the largest turkey and chicken egg producers in the nation. In 1928 he bought the Mercantile store in Hurricane and has operated it since. He was a large cattle rancher on the Arizona Strip and very active in civic affairs. Member LDS Church.Survived by wife, Nina, Hurricane; son, Shirl, West Valley City; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Rachel Judd, St. George. Preceded in death by wife, LaVerna; son, Mace; and daughter, Dawn.

Funeral services Monday, April 9, 1 p.m., Hurricane 6th Ward Chapel, 274 South 100 West. Friends may call Sunday, 7-9 p.m., at the Spilsbury-Deseret Rose Memorial Chapel, 58 North 100 East, St. George, and at the ward in Hurricane Monday, 11:30-12:30 p.m. Burial, Hurricane Cemetery.
