SHARE GRANT PROMOTES CONSTITUTION STUDY

The Utah State Office of Education has been awarded a $76,080 grant from the Commission on the Bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution. The money will be used to implement a plan to promote study of the Constitution and Bill of Rights in elementary and middle schools.

In all, 28 grants were given to school districts, colleges, universities, foundations, associations and other organizations in 18 states and the District of Columbia.The project, Teaching the Bill of Rights Through Literature and Language, will involve teachers in a series of workshops where they will be asked to write one-act plays and mock trials.
