Utah federal Judge Aldon Anderson sentenced a Salt Lake man to 10 years in prison Tuesday on his guilty plea to drug possession and firearms charges.

Steven Craig Chidester, 42, Salt Lake City, pleaded guilty three months ago to single counts of possession of at least 10 grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and using a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.Anderson sentenced Chidester to five years in prison on each count, but the judge ordered the sentences to be served consecutively.

Chidester was arrested Oct. 12, 1989, after police raided his home near Jordan Park. Officers said they confiscated the methamphetamine and 19 weapons, including a machine gun.
