SHARE 2 DIE AFTER HEAD-ON COLLISION NEAR MANTUA

Two Utah men were fatally injured early Saturday when their vehicles collided head-on.

KILLED:Roger Shomaker, 21, of Kaysville

Tim Herbert, 19, of Brigham City

According to Box Elder County sheriff's dispatchers, Herbert was westbound on U.S 89-91 in Mantua Flats area at 7:50 a.m. when he attempted to pass the car in front of him when the collision occurred.

The men were transported to Brigham City Community Hospital where Shomaker died. Herbert was transferred by Life Flight to LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City where he died at 4:30 p.m.
