SHARE TEEN WHO FELL OFF CLIFF DIES

A Salt Lake County teenager who fell 60 feet from a cliff ledge while hiking last week in San Juan County died Friday, May 11, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.

Marnie Booth, 15, a daughter of Tracy and Joann Booth, Taylorsville, was hiking with family members at the Windwhistle Campground northwest of Monticello about 9 p.m. May 4 when she slipped off a steep ledge.The girl's father praised the San Juan County deputies and search-and-rescue personnel who responded to the accident and the emergency hospital crew who transported her to the Colorado hospital.

According to a hospital spokesman, the youth suffered multiple fractures and internal injuries in the fall.

She was in the ninth grade at Bonneville Junior High School.
