SHARE MORGAN HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR CHOSEN AS TOP `DREAMER AND DOER’ IN UTAH

Jason Van Tassell, a Morgan High School junior, is Utah's "Dreamer and Doer."

The teenager was selected from among 10 state semifinalists for the honor, which is sponsored by the National Federation of High School Associations. Jennifer Christian, Bountiful, was runner-up.The contest seeks young people who demonstrate Walt Disney's "four Cs" - curiosity, confidence, courage and constancy. Jason's strong points ranged from writing poetry to playing football, from horse riding to piano playing. He has lettered in football and rodeo and was an officer in the school's Future Farmers of America. As a pianist, he has provided entertainment for the elderly as well as his peers. He is an Eagle Scout whose service has extended to the entire community.

As winner, he will attend an education event at Walt Disney World, Orlando, Fla., Aug. 15-18. Students are involved in seminars with business leaders, sports figures and government officials. During the school year beginning this fall, the state leaders will be representatives for the values of participation in character-building activities.
