SHARE 3 STUDENTS FROM UTAH ATTEND SPACE CAMP

Three Wasatch Front students, two from Centerville and one from Sandy, recently attended the U.S. Space Camp in Huntsville, Ala., and underwent five days of simulated astronaut training and two space missions.

Joshua Hiller, Centerville, attended the Space Camp program for students in fourth through sixth grades. Jessica Crandall, Centerville, and Nicole Nelson, of Sandy, went through the Space Academy Level I, for students in grades seven through nine.The programs offer simulated astronaut training, using the same equipment as NASA astronaut trainees. They also simulate a mission in space, using a space shuttle and control room mockup.

Students also tour the nearby Marshall Space Flight Center.
