Salt Lake police are looking for suspects in two incidents Wednesday night in which traffic disputes led to violence.

According to police, the first incident occurred at 7:18 p.m. when two shots were fired at a motorist traveling with his son on Salt Lake's west side. Both shots struck the car, prompting the driver to pursue his assailant."A fistfight ensued, and the victim took the gun away from the suspect," said Lt. Ken Thursk. "The victim then fired a shot at the suspect as he fled."

Police have identified the suspect but have yet to make an arrest.

The second incident, also on the west side, occurred about 11:30 p.m. and involved a motorist being threatened at gunpoint following a traffic dispute. Police located a suspect, who fled when approached by officers.

Police found a rifle hidden in some bushes, but the suspect escaped.
