Comedian George Carlin doesn't want his rec-ords sold off as heavily discounted remainders, so he's buying the rec-ord company for which he recorded eight albums.

Carlin plans to merge his new acquisition, Little David Records, with Eardrum, a label he already owns. Atlantic Records will handle distribution."For me," Carlin says, "the biggest part is emotional: getting control of my own masters (original recordings). I never wanted to see them wind up in the dollar bin at K mart."
