Mervin A. (M.A.) )Peterson, 71, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at home Sunday, April 29, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born in Spring City, Utah on June 12, 1918, son of Hans William and Margaret Adamson Peterson. Married Hilda (Pat) Flachman on Sept. 20, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. General building contractor since 1948. World War II veteran. Served in numerou sLDS Church positions, High Priest group leader, Scoutmaster, Stake Missionary, Stake Bldg. Committee, tour guide for the Salt Lake Temple Visitor Center. At the time of his passing he was secretary of the Mt. Olympus 2nd Ward High Priest Group. Past president of the Holladay Rotary Club, was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, Past president of the Holladay Lion's Club and honorary lifetime member, served on the '87-88 State Membership Committee, Past president of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers. Member of the Apartment Assn. of Utah, past member of the Board of Directors, member of the Bonneville Knife & Fork Club. Attended the U. of U. He enjoyed being with his family, loved golfing, hunting, boating, motorcycling, camping, traveling and antique cars.Survived by his wife, Hilda (Pat), two daughters; Mrs. Arthur (Shirley) Engman, Mrs. Tim (Carol) Secrist; two sons, Duane M. and wife Lynn; Jerry W. and wife Ila; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Glade A. Peterson, Murray.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12 noon, May 3, 1990, at the Mt. Olympus 2nd Ward Chapel, 3862 East Oakview Drive (4300 So.). Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Church on Thursday, one hour prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
