New York City has the highest AIDS rate in the world, with nearly one of every four men between the ages 25 and 44 infected with the disease, a report said Wednesday. The results were compiled in a study by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the New York Post reported. The two-year study was based on blood samples from patients with non-AIDS-related conditions at 26 hospitals across the nation, including three in New York City. Although the results painted a grim picture for New York City, Timothy Donderto, a CDC epidemic specialist, said the survey also shows "a steady increase nationwide for all demographic groups tested."
