Highland High School Choir members concentrate on producing their best sound during the second annual Deseret News Utah State Choral Festival, held Saturday at Bingham High School. Twenty-one high schools from across the state vied for top honors during the daylong festival, which was judged by adjudicators from the University of Colorado at Boulder and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Winners were: First place, 4A choir, Hillcrest; 3A choir, Murray; 2A choir, Hurricane; 1A choir, Wasatch Academy. Second place, 4A choir, Cottonwood; 3A choir, Pineview. Third place, 4A choir, Bingham; 3A choir, Cedar City. The 21 choirs had to win in regional festivals in order to qualify for participation in the festival.
