Nine people were arrested when fans of the Fiorentina soccer team went on the rampage to protest the sale of their star striker Roberto Baggio to Turin club Juventus, police said Saturday. Fiorentina fans battled with police outside the club's headquarters Friday night after hearing the announcement that Baggio, striker for Italy's national team, had been sold to Juventus for a near-record $12.8 million. Dozens of enraged fans turned over cars and threw bricks and molotov cocktails at police, who replied with tear gas and baton charges.
