SHARE MARIJUANA FOUND IN CAR STOPPED FOR SPEEDING

During a routine traffic stop Friday afternoon, a Utah Highway Patrol trooper discovered a large amount of marijuana being transported through the state.

Trooper David Lawrence pulled over a white Mazda for speeding near the Beaver south exit. In the process of speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, Lawrence said he "saw a little marijuana on the dashboard," which was enough to warrant a search of the car.Lawrence and Beaver police officer John Isaacson discovered a garbage bag full of freshly picked marijuana in the trunk of the car. He said the bag contained about 35 pounds of marijuana.

Dennis Lawrence Cortez, 21, Montebello, Calif., and William Rephel Feese, 19, Whittier, Calif., were arrested and booked into Beaver County Jail. They will be arraigned in 5th District Court next week.
