Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, William Earl Player, Sr., age 84, died May 18, 1990 in a local hospital.
Born June 25, 1905 in Salt Lake City to William Hershal and Mabel Clair Stewart Player. Married Hattie Mickelsen, on October 20, 1928 in Farmington, Utah. Retired from the Salt Lake City Corporation, after many years of service. Member of the LDS Church. Avid pilot, built and flew his own airplane (Player's Play Thing), which now is in the Aeronautical Museum in Osk Kosh, Wisconsin. Long time member of F.O.E. #67. Loved dancing and his family and many friends.Survived by his wife, son, William E. Player, Jr., and his wife, LaRue, of West Valley; daughters, Jo Ann Noyce and her husband, Warren, Salt Lake; Sandra Ambus and her husband, Jim, Sandy; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother, Frank G. Player, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by parents, sister, Verna Derrick and a grandson, Ronald Jones.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 1990 at 11 a.m. in the MacKay Deseret Mortuary Chapel, 36 East 700 South, where friends may call on Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial, Redwood Memorial Estates.
