Mirow, David Iser, M.D., 91, died May 19, 1990 of natural causes.

Beloved husband of Gertrude Ruth; devoted father of Sheldon Allan Mirow; Susan Marilyn Mirow; and Arvin Lloyd Mirow; loving grandfather, uncle, and cherished friend. Born on Rosh Hashanah, 1898, in Suwalk, Russia, he came alone to the U.S. in 1921 and put himself through high school, college, and medical school. He spoke Yiddish, Russian, Polish, German, Hebrew and English. Most of his family perished in Europe under the Nazis. He was the oldest child and last survivor of his family.He graduated from Ohio State University and Marquett University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Cincinnati Jewish Hospital and his specialty training in Ophthalmology and otolaryngology in Manhattan, N.Y. He was board certified in 1936. He practiced Ophthalmology in Manhattan from 1936 until his retirement in 1973.

He moved to Salt Lake City in 1985 to be with his family. He was a lifetime member of the American Medical Assoc., the New York State Medical Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In addition to numerous hours of charitable medical care at the Stuyvesant Polyclinic, the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harlem Hospital, and the Bialystoker Home for the Aged, he was a generous contributor to many Jewish organizations. His kindness, love and devotion to his family and his patients and his inspiring achievements and charitable activities over his lifetime, will be long remembered by those who were privileged to have known him. `May his soul be bound up in eternal life.'
