Firefighters extinguish a fire caused by gasoline fumes ignited by a pilot light. The fire gutted Siddoway's Service, 7800 S. 1300 West, West Jordan, Sunday night, causing an estimated $300,000 damage. Fire Capt. Ed Larsen said one or two people were inside the garage working on a dune buggy when they noticed a puddle of gasoline accumulating under a leaking fuel line. Fumes from the gasoline were ignited by the pilot light on a radiator cleaning machine nearby about 9:30 p.m. The man who was working on the dune buggy used a fire extinguisher on the flames and then called the fire department when the flames quickly spread out of control, Larsen said. Firefighters responded from two stations, one across the street only 300 yards away. It took 45 minutes to control the blaze, which spread to other flammable items.
