David Christopher Weaver II, 47, our loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, died Friday, May 18, 1990, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Butte, Montana.

He was born November 28, 1942, in Ogden, Utah, to William Dickson and Elizabeth Evans Weaver. He married Eloise Blackner December 31, 1959, in Layton, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.A member of the LDS Church, his life was committed to service in many assignments. He and his wife served as ward, stake and regional dance directors for many years. He served as Elder's Quorum president, High Priest group leader, and as a member of the stake mission presidency. He also worked with the Young Men in the athletic program. He was currently serving as a Sunday School teacher in the Layton 25th Ward.

He was lifelong resident of the Clearfield-Layton area. He graduated from Davis High School. David was an avid sports enthusiast, a true lover of life, and lived it to the fullest. He ran marathons, participated in triathalons, and enjoyed both water and snow skiing. He loved cycling and shared his zest for life with everyone he knew.

David was employed by the DDO (Defense Depot, Ogden) for 24 years and served as fire chief there for the past 12 years. He was the DDO recreational leader for many years, which included the Corporate Olympics, instruction of aerobics, and depot maraton runs. He served on the DDO Civilian Welfare Council and also as president of the DDO Management Association. For many years he visited schools throughout the area with fire prevention instruction. He also served on the Layton Volunteer Fire Dept. and was an emergency medical technican.

He is survived by: His wife, of thirty years; two sons, Ralph Byron and Bryan Ray, both of Layton; four daughters, Misti, Ogden; Melynie, Jennifer, and Kimberly, Layton; his mother, Elizabeth (Beth) Weaver Richards, Salt Lake City; two brothers, Bert Weaver, Clearfield; and Ren and Julie Weaver, Vancouver, Washington; one sister, Julie and Blake Murdock, Bountiful; two stepsisters, Penny Richards, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Greg (Joanne) Bown, Sandy; and four grandchildren; he was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 24, at 12 noon, in the Layton East Stake Center, 1015 No. Emerald Street, Layton. Friends may call Wednesday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1075 North Fairfield, Layton, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday morning at the stake center. Interment will be at Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton.
