Mary Selman Scott, age 88, died May 20, 1990 in East Lake Care Center in Provo.
She was born October 11, 1901 in Indianola, San Pete County, Utah to Mormon Vernon and Lavinia Elizabeth Williams Selman. Moved to Provo bench while an infant and grew up there where she graduated from Spencer School. Married Arthur Hamilton Scott, March 9, 1921 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died March 29, 1984 after 63 years of marriage. Lived in Provo for the last 61/2 years. They had a dairy farm in Nephi where she had helped her husband for years. She enjoyed canning and raising chickens. Active in the LDS Church as a visiting teacher and also the Primary Organization. Member of the DUP, enjoyed reading and handiwork until her eyesight failed. She enjoyed talking books and visiting with family and friends. Active with the Nephi Senior Citizen.Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Lela) Aston, Provo; Mrs. Grant (Mildred) Stanger, Salt Lake City; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by three infant children and all of her 11 brother and sister.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Provo North Stake Center, 1120 No. 1750 West. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at the Anderson Funeral Home in Nephi, 94 West 300 No. Viewing one hour prior to services. Interment Nephi City Cemetery.
