Thomas Baird Welch, age 75, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, died May 23, 1990.

He was born August 31, 1914 in Cowley, Big Horn County, Wyoming, to Charles Josiah and Sarah Jane Baird Welch. He married Dorothy Armstrong in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 12, 1934. Divorced. Married Louise Sylvester in Denver, Colorado on February 25, 1950. Divorced. Married Dorothy Bradley Jensen in Reno, Nevada on February 12, 1981. Mr. Welch was active in athletics where he excelled as a swimmer, earning many honors as an archer and was an expert marksman. He was a member of the Salt Lake Gun Club and enjoyed boating. An accomplished musician, he worked his way through school by playing in dance orchestras. He designed, originated and manufactured portable basketball floors. He was president and supervisor of the Welch Planing Mill, as well as building and designing the Bonneville Construction Company in Magna. His literary skills were honored by having articles puslished in sporting magazines.Survivors: Wife, Dorothy, Midvale; children, Thomas C. Welch and his wife, Carol, Las Vegas, Nevada; D. Douglas Welch and his wife, Sonja, Murray; Mrs. Larry (Rose Lee) Raddon, Draper; Kerry Welch, Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sister and brothers, Mrs. Cecil H. (Eloise W.) Douglas, Riverton; J. Lynn Welch and his wife, Elaine, Sandy; Eldon R. and his wife, Wildra, Salt Lake City; I. Vern and his wife, Marion, Midvale; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26, 1990, at 11 a.m., in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
