Ed Meyer, director of the rural development program in the Utah Division of Business and Economic Development, has been awarded a fellowship by Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.

He will be one in a small group of state and local government leaders nationally to participate in the National Hispanic Health Leadership Program. During the four-week fellowship, Meyer will spend three weeks in the university's program for senior executives in state and local government and one week studying Hispanic health policy.Meyer was selected after proposing a project for an economic development strategy to help Utah Hispanics obtain higher-paying jobs with enhanced medical benefits.
