Darral G. (Pete) Clarke of Provo, National Advisory Council professor of management, has been named director of the Master of Business Administration program at Brigham Young University.
K. Fred Skousen, dean of the BYU Marriott School of Management, said Clarke replaces William C. Giauque, who has served as director for six years and is returning to full-time teaching and research.Clarke earned degrees from the University of Utah, Ohio State University and Purdue University. He served on the faculty of the Harvard Business School for nine years and was a visiting professor at the University of Chicago before returning to his native Utah to join the faculty at BYU.
His early research efforts were directed at advertising. One of his papers in this area received the William O'Dell award for the best 1976 article in the Journal of Marketing Research.
His most recent research concerns the integration of marketing research and economic theory with marketing and financial management for better business planning and decision making.
