The Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind have been notified that the Salt Lake Oral/Aural Extension Division has been named one of two recipients of the 1990 Program of the Year Awards of the International Organization for the Education of the Hearing Impaired.

The organization, the professional arm of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf, said the award was given to recognize the Salt Lake program's wide variety of services, the dedication of staff and the inclusion of parents as an integral part of the program.The award will be presented during the association's convention in Washington D.C. July 27. John Schmidt is program coordinator of the Salt Lake program.
