Orson Brinck West, 80, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died May 23, 1990 in Salt Lake City of complications from Alzheimers.

Born August 9, 1909 in Aalborg, Denmark to Albanus and Else West. Married Krista Dietz June 14, 1934. Active member LDS Church, served as mission president in Denmark during WW II. In 1947 he was asked by the 1st presidency to come to Utah to translate the Book of Mormon into Danish. Served as Bishop of Belvedere Ward and in many stake callings in the Salt Lake Wells Stake. He founded the Danish Peace Gardens. He was loved by all and had no guile in him.Survived by wife, Krista; sons, Borge S. West; and Orson B. West, Jr. and wife Jolene; six grandchildren; sisters, Elmy Dahl and Eddy Hansen. Preceded in death by parents and two brothers.

Funeral services Saturday, May 26, 1 p.m., Belvedere Ward Chapel, 607 Downington Avenue. Friends may call at MacKay Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, Friday, 6-8 p.m. and at the ward Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park, Sandy.
